FREE MEALS FOR ALL BURTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS
The Burton ISD Child Nutrition Program has received a waiver from the Texas Department of Agriculture which will allow all students to eat school breakfast and lunch at no charge for the remainder of the school year.
Beginning, Monday, March 1, all Burton ISD students can receive a complimentary breakfast and lunch each day. This does not apply to any extra or a la carte food items, which will still be available for purchase.
For those students with balances on their child nutrition payment accounts, that money can still be spent on a la carte items and for any food in addition to the regular breakfast or lunch. If at the end of the school year there is a remaining balance, it will be carried over to the next school year.
Part of this waiver allows Burton ISD to provide breakfast and lunch to any individual age 1 to 18, regardless if they attend our schools as well as during any virtual instruction.
