Praying everyone is staying healthy and well!!!
As February 2021 rushed in this last week, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize that it was National School Counseling Week-All In For All Students and celebrate the contribution of our District PK-12 Counselor, Mrs. Angela Rhodes. She has a tremendous impact in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career among many other endless responsibilities. We appreciate her very much and are so glad she has become a part of #TEAMBURTON. Please remember to tell Mrs. Rhodes thank you for all she does for our students.
Congratulations to the Livestock Team that competed at the Bexar County National Invitational Virtual Contest last week. The team placed 1st overall. The team consisted of Chet Fritsch (2nd high individual), Tanna Thiel (3rd high individual), Waylon Hinze (4th high individual), Weston Hinze (5th high individual), Amanda Broadus (10th high individual), and Dawson Rudloff (47th high individual). There were 62 teams and 342 individuals that competed in this contest from 14 different states.
Our administrative team has been diligently working through the current COVID-19 status. Grades 7-12 are expected to return to on-campus instruction from remote learning today. The transition to virtual learning as an option went relatively smoothly. Our goal is to keep our students safe and healthy, while continuing to provide the best education possible. As we anticipate and address COVID-19 related situations in the future, your patience and understanding is very much appreciated.
Burton ISD appreciates that Brenham ISD has included us in the opportunity to participate in free COVID-19 Rapid Testing. The tests are administered by appointment only @ the Brenham ISD Community Education Building located at 1301 South Market Street. We hope that our students and staff can take advantage of the service that Brenham ISD has provided.
Staff and students that have any questions related to COVID-19 or any other health concerns are encouraged to contact their physician or call our district nurse @ (979) 830-3651.
