KWHI Burton ISD Radio Report April 20, 2015

4/20/15

Hello again Monday from Burton Independent School District!

What a busy weekend with the Cotton Gin Festival, 5K Run, and the Junior/Senior Prom. Our students really know how to act and look good! Such class!!! Thanks to all who participated!  It’s hard to believe that today we begin the last 6 weeks of the school year.

I would like to talk about the philosophy of education and why it should be important to you. Behind every school and every teacher is a set of related beliefs that influences what and how students are taught. A philosophy of education represents answers to questions about the purpose of schooling, a teacher’s role, what should be taught, and by what methods.

The emphasis on values and knowledge in Burton ISD has survived through time and is essential to
individual student needs to prepare them for a changing future. Our schools work with youth to improve society and help place the learner at the center of the educational process. My hopes are that we all continue to work together to determine what should be learned and how best to learn it.

More STAAR testing this week, so have your students rested and ready!

Smile and have a great week!
